Anniversary golf day
Calling all musicians angelangel?
The bi-annual Voices for Hospices musical event was such a success last time that were going to do it all over again this year! And this time its going to be even bigger and better when held on 30th October. Its the same venuethe Beck Theatre in Hayes. Were looking for all types of music and musicians to be part of this years event.
The Voices for Hospices event is part of the international annual World Hospices & Palliative Care Day. Events are held across the globe with one common aimto raise funds for hospices.
To ensure the Harlington Hospice contribution is a mighty success the call is going out now. For as Helen Underdown, Hospice Administrator said: The sooner we start the better it will be on the day itself because we want to make sure that
really want to attract the best talent. Helen also wants to hear from music teachers, directors, accompanists, choral and choir groups, solo vocalists and musicians.
Whether its Morrissey or Monteverdi, performing Brahms or Liszt, solo voice or massed choir, we want to hear from you now, said Helen. We are also keen to hear from people happy to recite poetry. Helen can be contacted on 020 8759 0453

Ruth is a Virgin Atlantic on-board beauty therapist who, when not flying from one glamorous location to another, regularly provides facial massages to clients of the Harlington Hospice.
Ruth Hicks
Located next to London Heathrow Airport, the Harlington Hospice runs a day centre for people with life-threatening illnesses. A range of services both clinical and therapeutic are provided, which aim to offer a holistic approach tailored to match clients needs and condition.
Practical needs including bathing and hairdressing are features of the services provided by the Harlington Hospice. As a result of the much-appreciated expertise of Ruth Hicks patients are now offered facial massage which adds greatly to their sense of wellbeing. The psychological benefit complements the practical benefit which takes on a greater meaning at this crucial stage in their life.
Said Jo-Anne Woolf, Day Care Centre manager: We are extremely grateful for the dedication and expertise which Ruth Hicks brings to the Harlington Hospice. It is our mission to treat the whole person and not just the medical condition. Through Ruth we are able to help restore a patients sense of wellbeing at a time when often depression and despondency is triggered by their illness.
