It’s is with great sadness to announce that our friend & Founder,
Mrs. Mary E. Hopkins MBE, passed away on the evening of Monday 28th January.
Mary recognised the need for Palliative care in the south of Hillingdon Borough and began fund raising with her husband, Reg, from the Village Pharmacy in Harlington. She approached local businesses, hotels & airlines, all offering their support. Our Fair on the Green, hospice shops & numerous events , all run by her group of volunteers, raised thousands.
Mary negotiated the purchase of Lansdowne House for Harlington Hospice & The Reg Hopkins Centre.
She was awarded the MBE in 2005 for her services to the community.
She has been our inspiration and we will continue to endeavour to fulfil her original aim of providing a bedded unit for Palliative care in Harlington.
Our sincere condolences & thanks to Mary’s family.

Family Flowers only but donations to Harlington Hospice would be appreciated
