Bereavement and Loss Counselling for Children and Young People

We offer specialist bereavement counselling to children and young people aged 4–17 years old who live in the South of the London Borough of Hillingdon. This service is available to under 18’s who have experienced a bereavement or have someone close to them with a life-limiting illness.

The service is holistic in addressing the social and emotional needs of bereaved children, helping them through the grieving process whilst; nurturing positive relationships, fostering resilience, self-esteem and emotional well-being.

The following support is offered:

  • Individual counselling, rooted in Integrative Creative Arts Therapies
  • Therapeutic group work
  • Short-term Family Therapy

Children often find it difficult to talk about worries through lots of conversation. So the Children’s Therapist creates a safe space where they can express themselves and begin to process grief and loss through creative mediums of art, storytelling, poetry, sandplay, movement and music.

We accept referrals from schools, healthcare professionals, parents and carers. Young people aged 16 and over can self-refer. If you would like to make a referral, please use this form: Children & Young People’s Counselling Referral Form

The children’s service is supported by The Hillingdon Community Trust and our core funding is provided by Heathrow Airport Limited.
