A simple, tax-effective way to support Harlington Hospice

At Harlington Hospice, we rely on the generosity of people and organisations who help us deliver compassionate care to local people facing life-limiting illness. Payroll Giving is one of the easiest and most tax-efficient ways to give regularly straight from your salary.

What is Payroll Giving?

Payroll Giving (also known as Give As You Earn) allows you to donate to Harlington Hospice directly from your pay before Income Tax is deducted. Because your gift comes from your gross pay, it costs you less while still delivering the full amount to us.

For example:

  • As a basic rate taxpayer, a £10 gift costs you just £8.
  • As a higher rate taxpayer, it costs just £6.
  • As an additional rate taxpayer, it costs even less.

That means your generosity goes further, helping us plan ahead with regular, dependable funding so we can continue to be there for patients and families when they need us most.

How it works

For Employees

  • Check if your employer already offers Payroll Giving through your HR or payroll team.
  • Choose how much you want to give and which charities you want to support (you can give to more than one).
  • Your donation is taken automatically from your pay before tax each pay period.
  • You can change or stop your donation at any time simply by contacting your payroll department.

 

For Employers

Offering Payroll Giving is easy to set up and shows your organisation’s commitment to the community. Your payroll team works with an HMRC-approved Payroll Giving agency to administer donations. Once set up, employees can sign up and select Harlington Hospice (among other charities) as their chosen beneficiary.

There are no obligatory set-up costs, and any administration fees charged by the agency can either be covered by you as the employer or deducted from the donation before it’s forwarded to the charity.

How to get started

If your employer already runs a Payroll Giving scheme, ask them how you can add Harlington Hospice as a charity you support.
If Payroll Giving isn’t available yet, speak with your HR or payroll team about setting up a scheme with an HMRC-approved provider. Once set up, you can choose to give to Harlington Hospice through your salary with ease.
