Michael Sobell Hospice Charity (MSHC) is proud to announce that Michael Breen has been elected Deputy Chairman by unanimous vote of the Board of Trustees with immediate effect.
Michael, an accountant, was born in Northwood and is Executive Chairman of Media Powerhouse Group Ltd and joined the Board of Trustees in November 2018 and represented MSHC at the Hillingdon Borough External Services
Select Committee meetings on 11th December last year and 28th February 2019. It was after the last meeting that MSHC was able to tell its supporters the good news that the inpatient unit (IPU) is set to reopen on the existing Mount Vernon Hospital site in the very near future.
Michael has become a fully involved member of the Board of Trustees and as a past volunteer understands and respects supporters and staff and how important they are for the Hospice and Charity to be successful. He has also forged strong relationships with Hillingdon Clinical Commissioning Group and Harlington Hospice – both organisations being important to the hospice care that has been so essential for Michael Sobell Hospice for more than 42 years.
Commenting on the appointment, Rosalind Williams, Chair of Trustees, said: “I’m delighted to be working with Michael, who brings a new set of skills and expertise to MSHC. This role of Deputy Chairman of Trustees is a pivotal role and I’m confident that Michael will continue to work tirelessly to achieve the reopening of the inpatient unit and the continued support of the day centre.”
Rosalind also announced the end of her term of office as Chair will be reached on 30th June 2019.
