Funeral Collections

Thank you for thinking about us at this difficult time

When a loved one dies, family and friends often choose to support Harlington Hospice including our hospice services at Michael Sobell House with a funeral or memorial collection.

This is an incredibly impactful way of honouring their memory and the time they spent with our team.  Often people choose to do this in lieu of sending flowers.

To support the hospice in this way, you can set up an online funeral collection or ask us for special funeral collection boxes and in memory envelopes.

Creating an online funeral collection page

It is easy to set up an online funeral page for your loved one, where you can share practical funeral arrangements with your family and friends, as well as offering them the ability to make a donation to the funeral collection.

This tribute page can also be shared more widely than those attending the funeral.  A one off or regular donation can also be made at anytime.

Physical Funeral Collections

We can provide secure donation envelopes for individuals to make donations by cash, cheque or debit/credit card. There is space on the envelope to let us know who the gift is in memory of and to confirm that we can claim the Gift Aid. This means we can receive 25% more from the kind donation at no extra cost to you or us.

If you prefer, we can also provide you with a collection tin or bucket.  Just get in touch with our friendly team below to talk this through and arrange collection of the items you will need.  support@Harlingtonhospice.org or 0208 106 9222

Thank you so much for thinking of our hospice at this time.

Collections coordinated by the Funeral Director

Some Funeral Directors can support you with a collection, they will be used to ensuring donations are passed to the agreed charity.  Please provide our contact details as above if your Funeral Director will be supporting you in this way.

Donations requested in Funeral Wishes documents

If you make plans for your funeral in advance, you might want to request that donations are provided to Harlington Hospice including services at Michael Sobell House.  Funeral Wishes can be expressed with a loved one orally, written down on paper, or on a computer and then printed to be shared.

We have partnered with MyWishes (free to use) to help residents document their funeral and wider wishes. You might want to use MyWishes, speak with someone you trust, write down your funeral wishes on or use an alternative, online service.

Why we need your support

As a charity only part funded by the NHS, every year we need to raise £2.4 million in voluntary income. It is only with the kindness of our supporters that we can be alongside our vibrant Hillingdon community at their time of need.

We know how important it is that people living alongside serious or terminal illness can access support that’s shaped around them, when and where they need it. Your donations allow us to keep our Hospice running every day, as well as go above and beyond for people experiencing the most vulnerable moments in their lives.
