Anyone who met Peter knows he left a lasting impression – not just for his wit or warmth, but for the way he faced life’s hardest moments with courage and kindness.
In July 2024, Peter was diagnosed with cancer. He accepted his prognosis with remarkable inner strength and determination, even when the path ahead was extremely difficult. He passed away on 11 October 2024, at the age of 38.
A bond of care
In his final weeks, Peter stayed at Michael Sobell House (supported by Harlington Hospice), where he formed deep connections with the staff and teams. His gratitude for the care, compassion, and dignity he received was evident every day – and his kindness in return touched all who met him.
Friends and family remember Peter for his infectious smile, his cheeky sense of humour, and his generous spirit. Even amid illness, those qualities shone brightly and inspired everyone around him.
“Peter’s strength and laughter brought light to every room. His legacy continues in the love and generosity of those he inspired.”
To celebrate Peter’s memory and the care he valued so deeply, his family and friends organised a series of fundraising events throughout 2025 in aid of Michael Sobell House:
• Wexford 10 km / Half Marathon on 13 April
• Sky dive on 22 June
• Cycle ride from Northwood to Wexford (304 miles / 489 km) on 17 August
• Dinner Dance at Clayton Chiswick Hotel on 27 September
Together, through their incredible efforts and the generosity of so many supporters, they have raised over £100,000 for Michael Sobell House.
This outstanding achievement will help ensure that others can receive the same compassionate care Peter was given – care that honours not just medical needs, but dignity, comfort, and meaning.
A memory that lives on
Peter’s story is a reminder of how integral hospice care is – not only for end-of-life support, but for creating moments of humanity, connection, and respect in the most difficult of times.
