Over recent years, Harlington Hospice and Michael Sobell House have come together as one organisation, strengthening our ability to provide high-quality hospice care and support for local people. This journey has been about building on the strengths of both organisations, creating greater stability, investing in our teams and continually improving the care we provide across our services.

We are delighted to share that all of our CQC-registered services are now rated Good, recognising the dedication and commitment of our staff, volunteers and supporters.

Our inpatient hospice at Michael Sobell House, has recently been rated Good overall by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), following a period of significant improvement and development. Earlier this year, our services run from Lansdowne House also achieved a Good rating, and our Harlington Care service, which provides specialist support to people in their own homes, continues to be rated Good.

For us, quality is more than a rating. It is about ensuring every person receives compassionate, personalised care that respects their choices, priorities and wishes. It means supporting families, listening carefully and creating moments of comfort, connection and dignity.

The CQC’s latest inspection of Michael Sobell House highlighted the strength of our leadership, our culture of learning and improvement, and the way our teams work collaboratively with patients, families and healthcare partners. Areas of exceptional practice included compassionate and inclusive leadership, innovation, and our commitment to continuously improving the experience of those we care for.

Across Harlington Hospice, our teams work every day to provide care that helps people live as well as possible, for as long as possible. Whether someone is receiving care at Michael Sobell House, Lansdowne House, through Harlington Care at home, or accessing our wider wellbeing and support services, they are at the centre of everything we do.

We are incredibly proud of our teams and grateful to everyone who has supported us through this journey. Our community makes our work possible, helping us continue to provide specialist hospice care, free of charge, for local people and their families.
